Walkden ABC (Amateur Boxing Club) in partnership with the Maverick Stars trust is a community boxing hub. The gym is open for children as young as 5 and they offer competitive amateur boxing training 1:1 sessions, group/family session and women’s only classes. They have been very supportive of Beyond Empower for a couple of years and have regularly supported a number of the groups of clients that we support.
To date they have delivered one hour boxing training sessions to Oakwood Academy 6th Form. Chatsworth Futures and Chatsworth Engage. The support we have received from Rob and Chantell the boxing coaches and Charlotte the founder of Maverick Stars has been fantastic.
Charlotte is so supportive of the work we do that she has just offered us another block of 12 free one hour sessions to the groups we support (in addition to 12 sessions they have previously offered to us). Our Salford Lifestyle Coach has been working to offer these sessions to Chatsworth Futures , Oakwood Academy and Eccles College.
The partnership remains strong will continue to thrive.
