Thomas’ Gaming Journey

When Thomas first met the Beyond Empower team, he was hesitant to step into a new environment. Social settings were daunting, and confidence was low. Motivation was initially quite tricky, until we explored Thomas’ greatest passion, gaming!

We started meeting at Everyone Can, an accessible gaming centre based in Sale, Trafford.

Initially, Thomas needed support getting there — but that soon changed. Now, he arrives independently, greets familiar faces, and looks forward to each session.

“It’s been so much fun, the time isn’t ever long enough and it’s over too soon!” Thomas shared recently.

He’s not just playing games, he’s building a routine, forming friendships, and stepping into his community with confidence.

We have just finished working with Thomas, but it has been fantastic to see the changes in his overall wellbeing.  He has a friend who also attends the gaming sessions and now feels confident to attend the sessions himself following our support.
