Nfon’s Health Journey: A Step Toward Better Wellbeing

Nfon, 54, from Salford was referred to us by a community connector, as she was facing some significant health challenges. She has a physical impairment in her leg, along with high blood pressure and diabetes. During her assessment with our Salford Lifestyle Coach, she shared her concerns about her weight and the impact it was having on her overall health. She knew she needed to make a change, but was not sure where to start.

Though Nfon was initially uncertain about exercising, she agreed to give the leisure centre a try and was open to joining a group setting. Over the course of 8 sessions, it was clear how committed she was. She worked hard through every exercise, giving her best effort each time. Nfon told us she really enjoyed the sessions and is now planning to go to the gym at least twice a week, if not three times, with the support of her daughters who will join her.

While Nfon’s weight is still something she’s working on (she’s lost a couple of kilos), her overall wellbeing has improved significantly. She feels healthier and more positive, which has made a huge difference in her outlook. Her story is a reminder that small steps, supported by hard work and consistency, can lead to real change.
